What you’ll do duting the Bolgheri Wine Tasting & Picnic Lunch
Book the Bolgheri Wine Tasting & Picnic Lunch and discover a unique corner of the region while tasting the wines and savouring a delicious picnic in a secluded spot just for you.
Bolgheri enchants and leaves unforgettable memories for those lucky enough to visit the area: untouched nature, heady aromas, the colours of its landscape, the sea and the sunsets, always welcoming with its medieval castles and towns brimming with history, the poetic charm of the famous cypress-lined avenues and, last but not least, the region’s fine wines.
Tenuta Le Colonne is located in one of the loveliest and most picturesque spots in Bolgheri, a short distance from the sea and surrounded by woodland, verdant vineyards and centuries-old olive trees.
Leave your car in the estate’s large parking lot, near the wine shop, along the Via Aurelia. On arrival you’ll be greeted by a tasting of three of our wines: Vermentino Costa Toscana IGT, Rosato Costa Toscana IGT and Rosso Bolgheri DOC.
While you’re tasting our wines, we’ll explain the philosophy behind managing and caring for the environment surrounding the vineyards: respect for the land and vines aimed at achieving a balance by creating an abundance of flora and fauna in the soil that leads to growing healthy grapes that communicate the terroir.
The same philosophy is applied in the cellar where our work continues by using natural yeast and soft pressing during fermentation in concrete vats to extract the noble substances. Ageing takes place in large oak barrels to produce a wines that maintains the pure and original character of the grapes.
At the end of this Bolgheri tasting you’ll enjoy a picnic in a shaded and secluded spot in the vineyards.
Our staff will hand you a wicker hamper complete with a cover, water, a bottle of one of our Tenuta Le Colonne wines (you can choose between Vermentino Costa Toscana IGT, Rosato Costa Toscana IGT or Rosso Bolgheri DOC), a bottle of Toscano IGP extra-virgin olive oil and all the essentials to relax and enjoy your outdoor lunch. The picnic consists of focaccia filled with zero-km Tuscan cured meats and cheeses, cold spelt, seasonal vegetables, a slice of homemade cake and seasonal fruit salad.
You can revel in this gastronomic experience in some of the estate’s most striking scenery. Our staff will explain where the picnic areas are.
Enjoy the mesmerizing views from your secluded picnic table in the shade, surrounded by our vineyards and the Mediterranean shrub where you can admire the stunning Etruscan Coast and some of the most beautiful islands in Tuscany.
When you return the hamper to the wine shop, our staff will be available for further tastings of wines from the Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards Group, to which Tenuta Le Colonne belongs: six wineries situated in top Tuscan appellations, including Chianti Classico (Dievole) and Montalcino (Podere Brizio and Poggio Landi).
